PtBio Asia Signs MOU with Cambodian Women's Professional Football Team "Siem Reap FC" to Develop Nutrition Programs via Gut Microbiome Analysis

24.06.2026

PtBio Asia Sdn. Bhd. ("PtBio Asia") and PtBio Inc. are proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the women's team of the Cambodian professional football club, Siem Reap FC. This partnership marks the beginning of joint research aimed at enhancing athletic performance and nutritional conditioning.

Under the theme of "Developing an Athlete Nutrition Improvement Program through Gut Microbiome Analysis," the project will integrate the unique resources and specialized expertise of the three participating organizations to drive a novel approach in sports science.

In recent years, the correlation between an athlete’s conditioning or physical performance and their gut microbiome has garnered significant global attention. In this initiative, we will conduct gut microbiome analyses of players from Siem Reap FC, a team leading the women's professional football scene in Cambodia. By combining these findings with individual nutritional status and performance data, we aim to establish an optimal nutritional improvement program designed to maximize the athletes' physical capabilities.

■ Roles of the Three Parties in This Project

  • Siem Reap FC: Will provide essential data, including the nutritional status and daily performance metrics of the participating players.

  • PtBio Asia: Will direct the overall project and lead the on-the-ground operations for gut microbiome analysis.

  • PtBio Inc.: Will be responsible for the "integrated analysis," combining accumulated gut microbiome data with other nutritional statistics. Leveraging state-of-the-art bioinformatics technology, PtBio Inc. will also serve as the research and development advisor for the project.

■ Future Developments

Following the signing of the MOU, our team members are scheduled to visit Cambodia this summer. We intend to explore collaborations with local research institutions, including universities, to establish a concrete framework for joint research. This will enable us to conduct our analyses smoothly and rapidly within Cambodia.

By applying our cultivated biotechnology and data analysis capabilities to the field of international sports science, we remain committed to contributing to the creation of sustainable systems that support the health and potential of athletes worldwide.
