About MDEC and MD Status
MDEC is a government agency under the Ministry of Digital, responsible for leading the development and coordination of Malaysia's digital economy. The "MD Status" is a prestigious recognition granted to tech companies that contribute to the nation’s digital transformation. It entitles awarded companies to a comprehensive set of incentives and rights known as the Bill of Guarantees (BoGs), including the freedom to source global talent and 100% foreign equity ownership.
